Doris Hanson Obituary

Doris M. Hanson, age 95, of Portland, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018. She was born March 30, 1922, the daughter of Edson and Myra (Horstman) Cornelius.

Doris was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. She was a Red Hat Lady and loved to play cards with her friends. In her younger years, Doris enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling with her husband. She was rich in her faith and always found time to pray for her fellow residents at Regency. Doris took such delight in driving her Buick, it was her baby.

Preceding Doris in death are her parents; beloved husband, Clyde Hanson; son, Robert Simmons; great-grandson, Brian; and an infant great-grandson. She is survived by her children, William (April) Simmons, Teresa (Steven) Euvrard, Edson Simmons, and Lisa (Bill) Corel; eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Martiny Township Cemetery.
