Helen J. Goodman

Helen J. Goodman, passed away, Saturday, February 3, 2018. Helen was born in Dallas Township, January 5, 1925, she was the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Miller) Simon and lived near Westphalia all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and worked at St. Lawrence Hospital for 20 years. Helen married Harold Goodman on August 6, 1955 and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Mike) Jegla of Hubbardston and sister, Marie Hanses of Houghton Lake. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Goodman; two sisters, Rosella Feneis and Bernita Smith; and brothers, Leo, Norman, Anthony, and Andrew Simon.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Eric Weber presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia, with the rosary being prayed at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in honor of Helen.
