Patricia J. Haskin

Patricia J. Haskin, 95, formerly of Ionia, passed away on April 18, 2018 in Flint, MI. Pat was born August 22, 1922 to Raymond and Mabel Roehrdanz in Fond du Lac, WI. After graduating from nurse’s training in Milwaukee in 1943, she joined the Army Nurse Corp and served 2 years in New Guinea and the Philippines where she met her future husband, Joseph Haskin. They were married on February 6, 1946 in Ionia, MI. They were married for 65 years and lived in Ionia until he preceded her in death in 2011. Pat worked for 33 years at the Ionia Co. Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1979. Survivors include son, Mike (Julie) Haskin; daughter, Lois (Gary) Nickel; grandson, Scott (Heather) Haskin; great-grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Haskin, Isabelle, Joseph, Levi, and Patrick; great-great-grandchildren, Braelynn and Ryker Haskin; cousin, Russell Fontanna of Fond du Lac, WI and his children, Anne, Tom, and Mark; nieces, Kitty Cole and Mary Montgomery, and many other nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Kenneth Harger at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided. The family receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Co. Commission on Aging in memory of Pat.
