Anna Lee (Knapper) Van Ett, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family in Ionia on August 4, 2018.
Anna was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on January 3, 1926 to parents William Joseph Knapper and Cleo Ruby (Rink) Knapper. She worked for Kellogg’s for 15 years, and later for the State of Michigan until retiring as an officer at Riverside Correctional facility in Ionia, in 1988. An independent woman with a strong work ethic, Anna fostered these qualities in her children. She will be remembered for her wit, generosity, and devotion to family.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, William Joseph Knapper; mother, Cleo Ruby (Rink) Knapper; sister, Betty Jo Adams; brother, William Vearl Knapper; sister, Virginia Machin; and nephew, Gary Knapper.
Anna is survived by son, Wendell (Sharon J.) Van Ett, son, Kevin (Sharon M.) Van Ett, daughter, Connie Strader, grandchildren, Wendi (Lane) Miller, Sarah Moore, Brian Van Ett, Melissa (Scott) Gaus, Laura Van Ett; great-grandchildren, Minerva Moore, Laney Miller, and John Miller; 3 nieces, Kay Whitmill, Tana (Willie) Holman, and Sally Birman.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Rich Street location of the Lehman Funeral Home in Ionia on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Spectum Health Hospice.
