Clemens Schneider Obituary

       Clemens Lloyd Schneider, age 91, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was born May 15, 1926 to Walter and Odella (Miller) Schneider. He served in the US Army in Germany during WWII and was a proud veteran, belonging to the American Legion Post 12, Lansing, Michigan and the V.F.W. Post #5065, Sheridan, Michigan. He was a charter member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lansing, and more recently was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City. Clemens married JurRee Fernholz in 1958 and he retired from Consumers Energy in 1981 after working there for many years. He and JurRee were residents of Delta Township until they moved to Crystal in 1988. Clemens loved airplanes, car shows, reading the newspaper, and watching the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed helping out on the farm and would drive or ride in the tractor any chance he could and he was especially fond of the Al Towne Rolling Thunder Band.

     Surviving Clemens are his wife of almost 60 years, JurRee (Fernholz) Schneider; daughters, Michelle (Glenn) Fedewa, Carol Jegla, Gail (Charlie Ledesma) Martinez; grandchildren, Patrick (Andrea) Fedewa, Brooke (Nathan) Cressman, Andrew Fedewa, Paul (fiancée, Jackie) Fedewa, Allison Jegla, Briana Martinez, and Danielle Martinez; great-grandchildren, Ella and Caleb Cressman and Lilly Fedewa; step-son, Marshall (Linda) Fernholz; brother, Vernon Schneider of Westphalia; sister, Arlene Fox of Maryville, Tennessee; and many special nieces and nephews. Clemens is preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Schneider; son-in-law, Charles Jegla; sister-in-law, Adeline Schneider; and brother-in-law, Robert Fox.

       The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N.
