Donna Lee Lafler

Donna Lafler, age 79, of Ionia, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018. She was born April 21, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Walter and Lenore (Kehring) Lafferty. She was a devoted employee at the Ionia Public Schools Cafeteria and later at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Donna loved animals, especially her three dogs and two cats. She collected cookbooks and was an excellent cook. Donna treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding Donna in death are her parents and husband, Karlyle J. Lafler in 1979. She is survived by her children, Robbin (Tina) Lafler, Terry (Karen) Lafler, and Cheri (Carl) Sherman; grandchildren, Nicole (Larry) Judkins, Karlyle (Sam) Lafler, Katie (J.J.) Murphy, Melissa (Erik) England, Megan (Adam) Champlin, Nicholas (Ashley) Lafler, and Matt (Nichelle) Brown; great-grandchildren, Emerson Judkins, Serenity Lafler, Bryson Lafler, Austin Murphy, Caleb Murphy, Bryce Murphy, Lex Brown, Emma Brown, Ava England, Liam Champlin, and Carlyn Champlin; and brother, Greg Lafferty.

A graveside service will be held at Easton Township Cemetery at a later date. For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Ionia County Animal Shelter or Great Lakes Caring Hospice in memory of Donna. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Ionia.
