Effie Marie Shepard

Effie Marie Shepard, age 92, of Gladwin, formerly of Ionia, passed away October 19, 2019. She was born on April 8, 1927 in Barthell, Kentucky, the daughter of Benjamin R. and Stella M. (Jeffers) Campbell. Effie enjoyed sewing and watching television, especially WWE Wrestling and game shows. Effie loved flowers and could make anything grow. She even became quite talented at making artificial roses out of crepe paper in her spare time.

Preceding Effie in death are her parents; husbands, Levi Dolley of 55 years, Don Herring, Ike Ingersol, and Howard Shepard; foster daughter, Debra Kruis; and grandson, Gary Lee. Surviving Effie are her daughter, Ivy Combs; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Mark Gerdes at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
