Elaine J. (Clark) Greenhoe

Elaine J. Greenhoe, age 91, born to William and Mildred (Hughes) Clark on October 15, 1927 in Lyons, MI, died December 13, 2018 in Ionia Michigan

She was born Jule Elaine Clark, but called Elaine her whole life. Elaine married LaVern Greenhoe on July 7, 1944 and they were married for 32 years until his death in 1976. Elaine was a devoted employee at Ionia County Memorial Hospital for 27 years until retiring in 1992.

Surviving her are two daughters, Nikki (Michael) Reed and Susan (Craig) Osborn; 7 grandchildren, Wendy (David) Peterson, Derek (Krista) Prater, James Reed, Justin Reed, Kylie (Daniel) Massart, Jeffrey (Brittany) Koziol and Jamie (Christopher) Berndt; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Francis Helmer; and many nieces and nephews. 

Elaine is predeceased by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Robert Clark, Charles Clark, Kenneth Clark, Adelord Clark, and Ruth Thacker.

Elaine was a kind person who loved her family, spent many years on the farm with her husband. She loved to cook, especially baked goods, which were excellent. She was always a quiet person about her faith, was an avid reader, and loved to crochet and could pick up anything and make it without a pattern. She loved to sew and made many of the clothes her children wore to school.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice and SKLD Nursing Home for their excellent care of our mother the last few weeks of her life.

The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Dale Olling at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. Interment will follow at Sheridan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in honor of Elaine.
