Jur Ree R. Schneider, age 88, formerly of Crystal, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. She was born on September 6, 1930 in Lansing, the daughter of Gregory and Irene (Lamp) Fernholz. Jur Ree belonged to the Ladies Auxilliary, V.F.W. Post #5065, Sheridan, Michigan. She was a charter member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lansing, and more recently was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City. Jur Ree married her beloved husband Clemens Schneider in 1958 and they shared almost 60 years of marriage together. Throughout her life, she babysat for others and was also a lunch lady. Jur Ree loved to sew, bake and watch birds, she was especially fond of cardinals.
Surviving Jur Ree are her children, Marshall (Linda) Fernholz, Michelle (Glenn) Fedewa, Carol Jegla, Gail (Charlie Ledesma) Martinez; grandchildren, Patrick (Andrea) Fedewa, Brooke (Nathan) Cressman, Andrew Fedewa, Paul (Jackie) Fedewa, Allison Jegla, and Briana Martinez; great-grandchildren, Ella and Caleb Cressman, Lilly Fedewa, with one on the way; brother-in-law, Vernon Schneider of Westphalia; sister-in-law, Arlene Fox of Maryville, Tennessee; Beth Shaheen, who was like a daughter to her; and many nieces and nephews. Jur Ree is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clemens Schneider; granddaughter, Danielle Martinez; son-in-law, Charles Jegla; sister, Jane (Bruce) Perkins; sister-in-law, Adeline Schneider; and brother-in-law, Robert Fox.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local V.F.W. in memory of Jur Ree. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
