MaryTeresa P. Brooks

MaryTeresa P. Brooks, age 77 of Ionia passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born on November 26, 1940 the daughter of James and Helen (Trierweiler) Daly. MaryTeresa was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Ledge and Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. She worked for the U.S. Post office in Lansing and Ionia retiring in 2001. MaryTeresa enjoyed camping, knitting, painting, online gaming and being with friends, her family and especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Daly, Jr.  Surviving are her children Gaylord Brooks of Lansing, Robin (Richard) Glesmer of Ionia, Gerald Brooks of Ionia and Gregory (Lisa) Brooks of Newaygo.; grandchildren Jessica Glesmer, Zachery (Bek) Brooks, Brandon Glesmer, Amy Lynn (Jim) Murawa, Derrick Glesmer, Kaitlyn (Alex) LaFata and Christopher White; great grandchildren Jordan Glesmer, Alivia Glesmer, Marshall Murawa, Andrew LaFata, Derrick Glesmer, Jr., Lisa Murawa, Anne Marie LaFata, Ayala Brooks, Joselyn Glesmer and Zoey Brooks; her brothers, Dennis Daly and Gary Daly; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Barney. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Brown at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 434 High St., Ionia. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
