Richard Anderson Obituary

Richard D. Anderson, age 71, of Lyons, passed away July 3, 2018. He was born April 18, 1947 in Orange Township, Ionia County. Richard enjoyed sailing, flowers, gardening, and working outside. He was a devoted employee of TRW, until his retirement in 2002.

Preceding Richard in death are his parents, Donald H. Anderson, MD and Faye (Hawley) Anderson and brother, Merlin D. (Sharon) Anderson. Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beth (Holland); daughter, Stephanie (Joshua) Cockfield; grandchildren, Olivia and Avalyn Cockfield; sister, Sandra (Ronnie) Owens; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Laurence) Miller; brother-in-law, Frederick (Caroline) Holland, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be officiated by Dr. Rev. Marilyn V. Danielson at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Mulliken. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County Animal Shelter in honor of Richard. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
