Richard “Dick” H. Hengesbach

Richard H. Hengesbach, age 73, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born March 15, 1945 in Westphalia, the son of Gilbert E. and Clothilda M. (Hufnagel) Hengesbach. Richard was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Michigan National Guard. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Fisher Body after 34 and a half years of service.  Richard loved playing cards, going to the casino, hunting and spending time with his family. 

Preceding Richard in death are his parents and brother; Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary; children, Daniel (Marcia) Hengesbach, Brian Hengesbach, Jeffrey (Lindsy) Hengesbach, and Jennifer (Damon) Thelen; loving grandchildren; Kyle, Riley, Hayden, Trevor, Ethan, Morgan, Blake, Carter, Aubrey; siblings, Doris Pung, Marilyn Theis, Jerome (Charlotte) Hengesbach, Larry (Susan) Hengesbach, Kathleen (James) Voisinet , and Ann (David) Fedewa ; and many nieces and nephews and special friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the St. Mary School Gymnasium.  The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.  Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
