Agnes "Lucile" Wambaugh Obituary

Agnes Lucile Wambaugh (Lucile), formerly of Hesperia, passed away January 10, 2022, at Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing.

She was born on March 26, 1929, in Muskegon, MI to Montie and Victoria (Daniels) Rose.  In her early life Lucile held jobs at the Hesperia and Ferry crate mills and later as a Sarah Coventry Consultant. She felt that raising her three children with her husband John Wambaugh, who she married on January 8, 1947, was her proudest accomplishment.  Hard work was her nature spending lots of years on their farm gardening and canning.  She was an avid knitter and in later years a devout Detroit Tigers fan and loved playing Rummikub with her family.  She is dearly loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her children: Rex (Karen) Wambaugh of Lyons, MI, Marilyn (Jack) Annis of Stevens Point, WI, and Wendy (Todd) Van Valkenburg of Houghton, MI; three grandchildren: Erin (David) Lewis of Havre, MT, Jason (Angela) Annis, of Ashburn, VA, and Jeremy Annis of Belgrade, MT; four great grandsons: Xavier and Salvador Ulano, and Jonathan and Carter Annis; two brothers: Carl Rose of Fort Collins, CO and William Rose of Fremont, MI; two sisters: Dorothy Gibbs of Twin Lake, MI and Hazel Wolffis of Fremont, MI; a very caring niece Jane (Jack) Rapes of Shelby, MI; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband John; her parents; two sisters: Lillian Millis and Blanch Whelply; and three brothers: Ray Rose, Mark Rose and James Rose.

At Lucile’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sparrow Hospice of Lansing, MI or Green Acres Assisted Living of Ionia, MI. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
