Anna Katharina "Katie" Fox

Anna Katharina “Katie” Fox, our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-great Grandmother passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of ninety-seven. She was born in Breitenbach, Germany on June 11, 1927, to Friedrich and Anna Martha (Rohrbach) Lotz. She married her husband Richard in Germany in 1948 while he was stationed with the Armed Forces and then they moved to Ionia. Katie was an active member of S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for over 60 years. She also worked as Bookkeeper/Accountant for Blundy Hoppes and Caswells. After her retirement, she became an active volunteer. She loved life and her family, especially cooking for them. Katie also enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo with her friends, and following the Detroit Tigers.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Sara) Fox of Ionia, Bonnie (Roger) Kimble of Saranac, Brenda (Kevin) Lowe of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Frederick (Nanette) Fox of Saranac. Her grandchildren Leesa Sees, Leslie Kimble, Lynn Kimble, Lauree Kimble, Ryan Fox, and Christopher Fox; eleven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; many loving Fox relatives and her wonderful nieces and nephews in Germany.

Katie lost her husband in 1969 to cancer; her son, Robert in 2019, her parents; five brothers; one sister and a great grandchild Richard.

Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. Thomas Brown will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2024, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. They will receive family and friends one hour prior to the mass at the Church. A luncheon will be provided at Apostles Hall in Ionia.
