Anthony Edward Arens, of Westphalia, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Tony was born on October 10, 1937, in Westphalia to Edwin and Verena (Rademacher) Arens. Tony was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also a member of the K of C and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed a good casino trip, bowling, golfing, playing cards, watching the Detroit Tigers and loved to sing. He owned and operated the Frandor Barber Shop for more than 55 years where he made many friends and formed lifelong relationships. Tony loved spending time with his family and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Preceding Tony in death are his parents; wife of 61 years, Sandra; siblings, Loretta, Francis (Barb), Bernice (John) Schneider, Richard, Harold, Mildred, Kenneth, Rosemary, and Arlene (Thomas) Taylor. He is survived by his sons, Rick Arens of Indianapolis, IN and Todd (Jennifer) Arens of DeWitt; grandchildren, Tyler, David, Rachel, Hailey, and Brayden; brother, Joe (Eunice) Arens; sister-in-law, Charlene (Bill) Werner; brother-in-law, Bill (Shirley) Bohr; and many nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Peter Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The rosary will prayed at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
