Beverly Rose Nelson

Beverly Rose Nelson, age 84, of Ionia, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024. She was born on December 6, 1939 in Ionia the daughter of Owen and Barbara (Fisk) Andrews. Beverly loved children and was always willing to take in or help anybody who needed it and she was a foster parent for many years.  She loved crocheting and made many blankets and baskets for various organizations around town. She loved going to lunch at the Bluewater Café and watching country western movies. Beverly organized and ran the Fisk family reunion for many years and also enjoyed going to her family cabin in Chatham in the Upper Peninsula. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Lake; husbands, Jerry Thorton and George Nelson; great granddaughter, Shalia Graves; brothers, Owen Andrews, Darwood Andrews and William Andrews. Surviving are her sons, Randy (Susan) Lake and Roy (Rhonda) Lake; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. Interment will follow at Easton Township Cemetery.
