Brian L. Wohlscheid, age 64, of Portland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 20, 1962, the son of Howard and Verna (Nesbit) Wohlscheid. Brian was a graduate of Portland High School, Class of 1980. On September 23, 1989, Brian married Nancy Lawless and they shared 36 years of marriage together. Established in 1961 by Howard and Verna Wohlscheid, Municipal Supply Company was proudly owned and operated by Brian and Nancy from 1992 until 2025. Brian was a member of various groups- Portland Chamber of Commerce, NFIB, BBB, SBAM, NRA, and Grand River Conservation Club. Brian touched many lives and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Preceding Brian in death are his parents and father-in-law, Richard Lawless. Brian leaves behind his devoted wife, Nancy Wohlscheid; sons, Daniel, Blake, and Graham (Tricia) Wohlscheid; sister, Lisa (David) Fitzpatrick; mother-in-law, Shirley Lawless; Lawless in-laws, Kaye (Ron) Bos, Daniel (Denise) Lawless, David (Tammy) Lawless; and many, special nieces and nephews.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Mike Alber on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Portland V.F.W. Post 4090 or the Fr. Flohe Foundation in honor of Brian. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
