Carleen Kay (Stump) Kissane, age 75, of Portland, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Monday, September 14, 2020. She was born on October 11, 1944, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Werner) Stump. Carleen was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and devoted teacher to the children of the Portland community. Carleen began her career at St. Patrick School, then transitioned to Portland Public Schools as an elementary teacher. In her years both before and after retirement she helped hundreds of children learn to read. She loved quilting, golfing, walking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding Carleen in death are Douglas, her beloved husband of 55 years, her parents, and brother, Phillip Stump. Carleen is survived by her children, Lynn (Marc) Nichols, Donna (David) Crim, Michael (Ann) Kissane, and Amy (Michael) Gorham; grandchildren, Brandon (Elizabeth) Gleason, Autumn (Tom) Densmore, Brooke (Mark) Simpson, Evan, Austin, and Connor Pelfrey, Michelle (Brandon) Trierweiler, Alex, Riley, Leah, Isabelle, and Cora Kissane, Coty Kissane, and Logan and Ryan Lefke; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, MaryEllen (Bob) Morgridge, Janice (Dick) Manning, Bill (Cindy) Stump, Barbara Stump, Pat (Linda) Stump, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her caregivers from FirstLight, specifically Gina and Lyndsey and the compassion and care also provided by Michelle & Nancy.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Mike Alber at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E.
