Carol E. (George) Simon

Carol Elda Simon, age 68, of Westphalia, passed away July 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 13, 1951, the daughter of Joseph and Rita (Cook) George. Carol was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s Society. She loved animals and her family, especially her grandchildren. Preceding Carol in death are her parents; sisters-in-law, Karen Simon, Kathy Simon, and Ann Esch; and brother-in-law, Robert Pline. Carol is survived by her cherished husband of 48 years, Bernie Simon; children, Stephanie (Leroy) Schafer and Michael Simon; grandchildren, Allison Jo Schafer, Kyle Schafer, and Keith Schafer; siblings, Luke George, Bruce (Diane) George, and Glen (Nadine) George; and her special friend and caregiver, Tracy Miller. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia.
