Carol Lee Werner, age 82, of Monticello, Indiana, formerly of Portland, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026. She was born on April 2, 1944, the daughter of Harold and Mary (Walker) Green. Carol enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and traveling to Michigan and Tennessee to visit family and friends.  She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and most of all- spending time with her family. Carol was the Office Manager at Harold Green Reality (the family business) for many years while in Portland and after moving to Indiana she worked at Gutwein Seed Company, eventually retiring in 2005. Carol loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Werner; mother, Mary Green; son-in-law, Scott Rinehart; sister, Sharon Brown; and brother, Reuben Green. Surviving are her children, Melissa Rinehart of Spring Hill, TN and son, Thomas J. Werner of Saranac; grandchildren, J.T. (Gabby) Rinehart and Ryan (fiancée, Kaylie) Rinehart; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Logan, and Rowan Rinehart; father, Harold Green; sister, Evelyn (Kim) Livingston; brother-in-law, Lynn Brown; sister-in-law, JoAnn Green; and several nieces and nephews.
