Charles Richard Allen

Charles Richard Allen, age 92, of Edmore formerly of Ionia, passed away surrounded by his family on February 11, 2021. He was born in Ionia on January 6, 1929, the son of Lyle and Christine (Winwright) Allen. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true passion was harness racing. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.

Preceding Charles in death are his parents; wife, Syverine Avery in 2006; wife, Edith Fosburg; daughter, Rosemary Roberts; and brother, Ernie Allen. Surviving are his children, Carolyn (R.V.) Wise, Chuck Allen, Nina (Everett) Pratt, Richard Allen, Bobbi Allen, and Lyle Allen; many grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren; and special friend, Joan.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
