Clair Howe Obituary

On January 20, 2022, Clair W Howe, loving husband and father of 5 children and 2 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 75. Clair was born on December 3, 1946 in Jackson, MI to Kendall and Vera (Swift) Howe. He graduated from Leslie High School class of 1966. He held a Machine Operative position at Len Industries in Leslie, MI for nearly 36 years and retired from there. On May 10, 1975, he married Jacqueline Lee Simons. They raised two sons, Thomas and Joseph, and three daughters, Sherry, Marlene, and Betsy. Clair had a passion for photography, woodworking, and kites. He frequently combined his three favorite hobbies to demonstrate his kite craftsmanship. He sent these artistic photos to family and friends on a regular basis. He and his wife were antique dealers at Maple Street Mall in Mason, MI for 11 years showcasing many of their artistic endeavors. He was also a fan of science fiction media, sharing his interests on conspiracy theories was a favorite pastime of his. He was known for creating small talk with anyone who would listen and spend time chatting with him. Clair was preceded in death by his father, Kendall, his mother, Vera, and his daughter, Betsy, sister, Diane. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, his four children, Sherry Ryan, Marlene (Carol) Ryan-Stahl, Thomas Howe, Joseph Howe, his brother Wendell Howe, his sister Sharon Beck, grandchildren, Lacey (Taylor Zampini), and Katelyn (Thomas Jury).  A memorial service will be held in May at Hayes Park in Mason, MI. Donations may be sent to Mason Area Historical Society at 200 E. Oak St, Mason, MI, 48854. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
