Clover Spitzley Obituary

Clover Fae (Marcham) Spitzley, age 80, of Westphalia, passed away July 21, 2020 at Regency West in Lansing, Michigan.

Clover was born to Loyal and Clara (Ebright) Marcham on August 11, 1939 in Alma, Michigan.

Clover was especially proud of her family, she most enjoyed spending time with them as a stay at home mother and grandmother, as well as being a dedicated member of the Christian Mothers Society in Westphalia for several years.

Clover is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, LeRoy of Westphalia; daughters, Anna (Michael) Rolph of Lansing, Lisa Spitzley of Portland, Elizabeth (Bill) Nurenberg of Portland, and Rebecca (Dean) Stedman of Colorado Springs.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, David (Jenny) Leik, Ryan (Chelsea) Leik, Danielle (Ben) Jorae, Megan (Keith) Nurenberg-Jakubowski, Jordan (Molly) Leik, Eric (Stephanie) Stedman, and Travis Stedman; great-grandchildren, Caden Nurenberg, Cohen Soles, Keaton, Kiara, and K’Lee Nurenberg, Sophia, Charlotte, and Hazel Leik, Alexander Trowbridge, Nathan Leik, and Wyatt and Owen Leik; sister, Pauline Welch; sisters and brothers-in-law, MaryLou Weber, Blanche Spitzley, Sandy Patrick, Kathy (Donald) Hengesbach, Steve (Georgia) Spitzley, and Leon Bierstetel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyal and Clara Marcham; in-laws, Edward and Marcella Spitzley; granddaughter, Amber Spitzley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred (Fred) Matthews, Lavonna (Donald) Lott, Ira Welch, Edward (Eileen) Spitzley, Marlene (Jerome) Bauer, Daniel Spitzley, Larry Spitzley, Annette Bierstetel, Thomas Weber, and Carolyn Spitzley.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Eric Weber at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regency at Lansing West – Clinton Transit (please specify “activities fund” in the memo of the check) or the American Kidney Fund in honor of Clover.
