Cynthia “Cyndy” Marie Knoop, age 63, on March 10, 2021 Cyndy lost her battle with cancer, and COVID was her final struggle. She was born on May 10, 1957, the daughter of Richard and Rosemary (Smith) Simon. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Cyndy enjoyed tending to her flowers in the summer, cross stitching and a good party - often entertaining others at their river property. She loved her family and was very devoted to her husband, sons, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Judy Fedewa; and brothers-in-law, Dan Blemaster and Henry Knoop. Surviving are her husband, John; sons, Eric (Christina) Knoop, Matt (Teresa) Knoop, Rick (Danika) Knoop, and David (Jessica Edwards) Knoop; grandchildren, Alexis, Levi, Addison, Daniel, Isla, Grant, and Caleb; siblings, Judy (Tom) Fryover, Jim (Martha) Simon, Char (Al) Fedewa, Dennis (Marilyn) Simon, Susan Blemaster, Gloria (Jeff) Badder, and Andy (Cheryl) Simon; in-laws, Catherine (Ray) Rowell, Ann Marie (Larry) Pung, Ray (Connie) Fedewa, Doni Knoop, Rita (Wayne) Thelen, and Dennis Knoop; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Due to COVID precautions a private Memorial Service will be held at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The service will be livestreamed for viewing on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. on the Lehman Funeral Homes - Portland Facebook page for those unable to attend. A Celebration of Cyndy’s Life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Cyndy. No matter how tough things got for her she always saw the positive side of life. She loved her family so dearly & her grandchildren meant the world to her. I will miss her so much. Cindy had a special way of encouraging myself & others, always looking for the postive in life, You will truly be missed but always a loving thought away.
