Danny Lee Harrison, 71, of Ionia, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born to Melvin and Arlone (Payne) Harrison on January 6, 1951 in Lansing, Michigan. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and playing pool, chess, and cribbage. He was a proud member of the US Navy and also the Ionia Moose Lodge. Danny was a boxer for the Golden Gloves in Lansing as well as in the Navy. He worked at General Tire for many years and retired from Ventra Corp.
Preceding Danny in death are his parents and sister, Marilyn Vallad. He is survived by his children, Rachel (Rick) Schneider of Westphalia and Nathan (Becky) Harrison of Belmont; special nephew, Jason (Dana) Agostini; special nieces, Katrina (Shane) Whaley and Melanie (Kammi) Agostini; grandchildren, Lauren, Kennedy, and Abbie Schneider, Caitlyn Aamodt, and Lily Harrison; sister, Marsha Harrison of Pennsylvania; and brothers, Dave (Cindy) Harrison of Westphalia, Thom (Kim) Harrison of Illinois; and Tim (Heidi) Payne of Grayling, Michigan.
A Memorial Service honoring Danny will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the chapel. For those unable to attend, the Memorial Service will be livestreamed on the Lehman Funeral Homes - Ionia Facebook page beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
