Darlene Kay Bekins

Darlene Kay (Reister) Bekins, 82, passed peacefully and joyfully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Darlene was raised in Conklin, Michigan, where she was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conklin. Since 1983, she had been a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Portland, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Maxine Reister, and her brothers, Michael and Marty. Darlene leaves behind her devoted husband of 55 years, Dan Bekins, whom she deeply cherished. She is survived by her siblings Jaynee (Jim) Hoag, Dixie Terpstra, and Margie (Rich) Bloom; her children Cindy (Tom) Wessel, Julie (Dave) DeKam, and Paul (Kristen) Petersen; stepchildren Kurt Bekins, Debra (Randy) Sutter, Brian (Connie) Bekins, and Ray Bekins; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to her life.

Darlene will be laid to rest at Danby Township Cemetery, with a private family graveside service as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
