Deborah Lee (Powell-Rowan) Rich of Belding, MI, born October 20, 1951 and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, age 69, daughter and only child of Bettie "Gram" (Dunham) and William Charles Powell passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Joseph J. Rich; daughter, Michelle Suzanne Rowan; grandson, Anthony MarquiÅ› Rowan-Burnett; and granddaughter, Alisabeth Rene Swanson. Surviving are her daughters, Andrea Lynn (Rowan) Epps, Alisa Rowan and Joe Wolfe, Jamie (Rowan) and Carl Swanson; step-children, Loren Rich and Marcella Lay; 10 grandchildren: Kiera Monique, Kaylee Marie and Roger Whitley, Michael Andrew, Samantha Lee, Casandra (C.J.) Justine and Jason Baugher, Tia Mystique, Joshua Matthew and Dominique Cassis, William Shane, Gabrielle "Gabby" Geanine, Gabriel Richard-“André”; 12 great-grandchildren: Jayvin De'Shawn Marquis, Eli Benjamin, Daniella "Ella" Raeleigh, Liam Kennedy, Emalee "Emmie" Marie, Payton Ray, Avery Marie, Myles Jaxson, Alyza Emryn Kay, Cayden Taylor, Tyrell “Isaiah” and Ezra Joseph; "adopted” daughter, Elisha Marr; and a small host of cousins and lifelong friends. Affectionately known as "Nana" to many. She attended Godwin Heights High School and Grand Rapids Community College, was a Retired Hospice nurse (LPN), volunteer at Greenville Nazarene Church Food Pantry and Ionia Christian Service, and served on board of Lyons-Muir Church and board of Compassion Care Center.
In accordance with her wishes, contributions can be made to the American SIDS Institue, https://www.sids.org/ways-to-help/donate/ or to Lyons-Muir Church in lieu of flowers. A Memorial Service will be attended by immediate family and closest cousins and friends and will be held on April 29, 2021 at Lyons-Muir Church in Muir, MI at 1:00 p.m. Numbers are limited due to Covid-19 restrictions. Committal at Portland Cemetery, Portland, MI to follow. Family and friends are then invited for a reception/luncheon at The Log Cabin Inn Banquet Center in Muir, MI at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
