Diane L. (Mouw) Bytwerk

Diane Lynne (Mouw) Bytwerk, age 56, passed into Heaven with her family surrounding her after a year and nine month battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. Diane was born in Grand Haven, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Marilyn (Schutter) Mouw. Diane attended Haslett High School and was an accomplished swimmer, holding many of the school records. She married the love of her life, Wayne Bytwerk on May 14, 1983, and they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage together. Diane was full of laughter and life; she enjoyed gardening, camping, kayaking, and going to garage sales. She was the “queen of card making”, stamping beautiful cards for any occasion. Diane’s #1 hobby and passion in life was being a mom and grandma. Her family was her pride and joy and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them.

Preceding Diane in death are her parents. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bytwerk; children, Courtney Bytwerk, Kimberly Bytwerk, Ryan (Kayla) Bytwerk, and Kayleigh (Tyler) Baker; grandchildren, Tucker, Sawyer, and Hunter Bytwerk; siblings, Robert (Pam) Mouw, Randy (Mickey) Mouw, Pam (Carl) McHenry, Daniel (Mary) Mouw, Becky (Silvio) Iung, and Denise (Bill) Braun; many, mighty Mouw’s, including, nieces, nephews, and extended family; and the Portland Neighborhood, Grand Ledge Baptist Church Community, and many others, who have showed an outpouring of love for Diane and her family. 

The Memorial Service will be celebrated by Pastor John Lemke and Daniel Mouw at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Grand Ledge Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors and friends on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. They will also receive visitors on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Diane’s main passion and focus in life was her family.
