Diane Carr Obituary

Diane Kay (Russell) Carr is now home with the Lord as of February 1, 2021 at the age of 77. She was the daughter of Bernard Charles Russell of Lyons, Michigan and she was the wife of Robert “Bob” James Carr of Portland. Bob and Diane had 60 blessed years together – 2 years in high school and 58 years of marriage. Diane was an accomplished pianist and organist; she had taken lessons from the age of 7. She then became the pianist at Lyons United Methodist Church at the age of 15 and later went on to play for the Delta Mills United Methodist Church for 39 years. Diane also had the pleasure of teaching students piano lessons at her home for many years. After retiring she began vacationing in Ft. Myers, Florida and volunteering at Ford-Edison Estates on Mrs. Edison’s piano during Christmas. Diane and Bob both became directors for Walk to Emmaus. Diane was the mother of three sons: Jim, John, and Jerry who gave them 10 grandchildren and three great-grandsons, which gave her the desire to cook with a store house of recipes. Diane also loved to read novels and about history. One of her favorite “bucket list” items was when her youngest son was employed in the Netherlands and she was able to go and visit and also when her and Bob visited Paris – a once in a lifetime experience. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
