Donald Mark Kavanagh

Donald Mark Kavanagh passed away Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born on July 23, 1932, the son of James and Patricia (Cook) Kavanagh.

Donald married Yolanda (Benjamin) Kavanagh and they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage while raising their family together. He was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland. Donald retired from TRW after many years of service. He enjoyed traveling and wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Patricia Kavanagh; wife, Yolanda Kavanagh; son, Dennis Kavanagh; brother, Joseph Kavanagh; and brother-in-law, Bill Piggott.

Surviving are his children, Denise (Cheryl Visscher) Kavanagh of Freemont, Peggy (Hank) Moczul of Bellaire, Barbara Kavanagh of Portland, William (Pamela) Kavanagh of Portland, Mike (Lisa) Kavanagh of Grand Rapids; daughter-in-law, Ruth Kavanagh; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sisters, Alice Piggott and Carol (Jack) Caroen; and sister-in-law, Marie Kavanagh.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Mike Alber and Fr. Jim Eisele at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E.
