Edward Raymond Wieber, 86, of Westphalia, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on August 8, 2021 with his family surrounding him. He was born on August 17, 1934 in Westphalia to Raymond and Florence (Fedewa) Wieber. Ed was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Society. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #2890 and the Fourth Degree Fr. Godez Assembly. Ed proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a lifelong farmer and worked at Motor Wheel for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing cards, and going to coffee.
Preceding Ed in death are his parents; son-in-law, Mark Noel; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Thelen and Joseph Fedewa. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia (Thelen) Wieber; children, Wayne (Tina) Wieber, Lynn (Scott) Strong, Brian (Jayne) Wieber, Debbie Schaar (special friend Brent Pohl), Michelle Noel, and Tim (Bobbi) Wieber; grandchildren Jordan (Manisha) Wieber, Kristin (Derek) Schafer, Dustin (Taylor) Wieber, Christopher, Austin and Garrett Strong, Kirstie (Chad) Yelton, Kenzie (Evan) Fedewa, Gavin (Amanda), Allison, and Preston Schaar, Nick and Macy Noel, and Elijah Wieber; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joni Thelen and Janice Fedewa; and several Thelen in-laws;. Special thanks to his coffee and card playing friends with whom he enjoyed spending time.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia.
