Edward "Ed" Calvin Dykstra

January 17, 1953 - October 3, 2021

Edward “Ed” Calvin Dykstra, age 68 of Ionia, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Lansing. He was born in South Holland, Illinois but resided in Michigan for the last 24 years.

Ed was an avid Michigan fan and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping and golfing were some of his favorite activities. Gathering with his high school crew for yearly get togethers was something he looked forward to. He was a member of First Christian Church, where he loved to sing. Ed was a very loving family man and will be tremendously missed.

He is survived by his wife of the last 12 years, Juanita, daughters, Ashley (Josh) Hanna, Kelly (Justin) Dykstra, and Linsey (Zach) Robinson; bonus children, Thomas (Rickie) Weaver and Ashley (Rumaldo) Garza; grandchildren, Liam, Rosalie, Felicity, Emery, Matthew, Chase, Tristan and Kaylynn; two nephews; several brothers and sisters-in-law; plus a host of other family and friends. Preceding Ed in death are his parents, Edward and Ruth Dykstra; sisters, Carol Downing, Patricia DuBrick, and Sandra Dykstra; and a granddaughter, Jade Hanna.

The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Kinsinger at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 8, 2021 at the First Christian Church, Ionia. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
