Elijah Ward Jr.

Elijah Ward Jr., age 90, of Fenwick, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025. Born on December 21, 1934, in Ionia, he was the son of Elijah and Clara Ward Sr. Elijah retired from General Motors after 28 years of dedicated service as a General Foreman. In his earlier years, he had a passion for riding and racing motorcycles. Elijah cherished his time living at Long Lake, especially enjoying leisurely rides on his pontoon. He also loved dining out and spending quality time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Preceding Elijah in death are his parents; son, Elijah Don Ward; brother Frank and brother-in-law, Frank Spratto. Left to treasure his memory are his beloved wife of 70 years, Joan Ward; son, Dennis (Ann) Ward; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and sister, Lillian Spratto.

The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor James Floyd on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Community Church, Orleans. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia.
