Ervin Lubitz, Jr., age 81, of Sunfield, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. He went peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Elsie Lubitz and brother, Gene Lubitz. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife and best friend, Laurie; brother, Gary (Chris) Lubitz; sister, Jan (Les) Sedore; children, Tad, Tim, Michelle (Tom), Russell (Sara), and Krystal (Jen); grandchildren, Adam, Christopher, Samantha, Aaron, Vanessa, Zenden, Alyshia, Alexandra (Brad), Gabrielle; along with 13 great-grandchildren. Erv enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and most of all spending time with his children. He also loved spending winters with his Whispering Palms family.
A Celebration of Life will by held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Kilpatrick United Brethren Church, Woodland with Pastor Rocky Spear and Pastor Neil Estep officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Lake Odessa VFW Post 4461. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
