Eugene “Joe” Hoppes passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by his family. Joe was born on March 17, 1939 to Leo and Philomena (Huhn) Hoppes. He later married, Alice (Noren) who preceded him in death.
Joe retired from Tri-County Electric after 31 years of service. He loved to fish, hunt, go to the casino and hang out at Hot Shots playing Keno. Joe dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he treasured spending time with them and having Sunday family cookouts at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hoppes; parents; infant granddaughter, Angel; brothers, Stan (Joan) Hoppes, Leon (Gerry) Hoppes, Dick (Carol) Hoppes, Jim (Sharon) Hoppes, and Jerry (Mary) Hoppes, his sisters, Colleen (Bill) Trierweiler, Virginia (Oscar) Townsend, Alice (Dick) Kelly; in-laws, Carl (Shirley) Noren and Jean Ellen (Leonard) O’Bannon.
He is survived by his children: Gordy (Colleen) Hoppes, Amy (Brad) Parkhouse, and Denny (Pam Fedewa) Hoppes; grandchildren: Megan (Ben) Brown, Katie Hoppes, Alex (Maddi) Hoppes, Dustin (Jocelyn) Parkhouse, Samantha (Eric) Thelen, Jenna (Andrew) Perry; great-grandchildren Knox, Jackson, Allison, Parker, Hadley, Isla, Declan, Davis, Cameron, Maison, Paul, Ellis, and Weslyn; brothers, Tom (Jill) Hoppes and Larry (Dee Dee) Hoppes; sister-in-law, Jill Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Logan Weber at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
