Eva Charlene Coleman, of Traverse City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 4, 2026 at the age of 91. She was born on August 1, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Violet (Ziegler) Hartman.
Eva was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. For many years, she worked in the custodial department at Traverse City Senior High School. In her spare time, Eva enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved reading a good book, watching classic westerns, and cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers. More than anything, Eva cherished time spent with her family, who meant the world to her.
Preceding Eva in death are her parents, Ralph and Violet Hartman; her husband of 43 years, Herman Coleman; daughters, Janet Wallman and Connie Robertson; infant daughter, Caroline Coleman; siblings, Duane (Margaret) Hartman, Charles Hartman, Raymond (Maxine) Hartman, Marvin (Nina) Hartman, Lowell Hartman, John (Pat) Hartman, Karen (Bill) Matney, and Dean Hartman; and sister-in-law, Betty Hartman. Surviving Eva are her son, Pastor Gary (Patty) Coleman; daughter, Betty Claypool; son-in-law, Steve Robertson; grandchildren, Teshia, Michael, Joshua, Sarah, David, Jennifer, and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Parker, Gerry, and Braelynn; brother, Thurl Hartman; and sisters-in-law, Janet Hartman and Donna Hartman.
