Felix M. Carrizales, of Ionia, passed away peacefully at his home on November 16, 2023 at the age of 98. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Felix was born in Texas on November 21, 1924 to Martin and Maria (Mata) Carrizales. Felix and his wife, Antonia moved to Ionia in 1967 where they raised their family. Felix was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia for many years. He was a man of few words who valued hard work and helping others. Felix was a skilled carpenter who shared his talent with others for many years. Felix enjoyed having a good time with family and friends and drinking a cold Budweiser on occasion. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Felix in death are his parents; wife, Antonia Carrizales; daughter, Aurora Carrizales; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Guadelupe Saucedo (Miguel), Jose Antonio Carrizales (Deb), Felix R. Carrizales (Ziara), Jose Angel Carrizales, Maria Juanita Carrizales (John), Lus Maria Meoak (Bob), Yolanda Hines (Jerry), Patricia Carrizales, and Arturo Carrizales (Kelly); 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ramona Coronado.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. The rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. followed by a prayer with Deacon Zenon Cardenas presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
