Francis Trierweiler, 95, of Westphalia, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. Born on March 15, 1930, to Frank and Pauline (Belen) Trierweiler, Francis grew up in Westphalia and dedicated his life to dairy farming. He pursued studies at Lansing Community College and MAC (Michigan State University). He enjoyed many rounds of golf over the years and was involved in many different aspects of the Westphalia Community. Francis served as the Westphalia Township Supervisor and Assessor and was a member of the Pewamo-Westphalia School Board. On July 2, 1955, Francis married Wilma Cook, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion, celebrating 70 years of marriage together.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Robert William Trierweiler; granddaughter, Kathyrn Marie Trierweiler; father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Elizabeth Cook; and siblings, Margaret, Leland, Arlene, Helen, Genevieve, Mary Jane, and Joyce. Francis is survived by his beloved wife, Wilma Trierweiler; children, Frank (Terri) Trierweiler, Janet (Frank) Freund, Julie Trierweiler, Paul (Tracie) Trierweiler; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Eric Weber on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fr. Miller Trust Fund or the Westphalia Fire Department in honor of Francis.
