Frederick A. DuBois, died on May 21, 2025. He was a resident of Grand Ledge, MI. Fred was born in Lansing, MI on September 17, 1932 to Ellsworth and Alburkie DuBois. He was the youngest son of 11 children. He retired from General Motors on May 8, 1987 after 35 years of service (Way to stick it to them on the pension, Dad!). While working full time he also farmed his 40 acres for many years. After retirement he enjoyed traveling the country with his wife and many extended family members.
Fred was always tinkering on anything mechanical and never met an engine he couldn’t fix. He loved 3 things most in life: His Jesus, his wife of 71 years and his family. He was known as a jokester and would do most anything for a laugh and he always had a song on his lips. If he didn’t know the words, he’d make them up.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Alburkie DuBois, his brothers, Harold, James, Vern and Donald DuBois, and his sisters, Vera McQueen, Ethyl Engel, Marilyn Lumbert, Barbara Reed and Sharon McKenzie.
He leaves behind his wife, Jeannette (Eastman) DuBois, his sister, Evelyn (Marvin) Cramer, sons, Gerald (Diane) DuBois, Darrel (Ann) DuBois, and daughters, Karen (Greg) Gladding and Tina (Derek) McKenzie. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
