Frederick B. Proctor Jr.

Frederick B. Proctor, Jr., age 74, of Portland, loving husband, father, uncle and friend passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1950, the son of Frederick B. Proctor, Sr. and Marlys (Longwell) Proctor. After graduating from Portland High School in 1968, Fred went on to serve his country in Vietnam from 1970-71 as part of the 23rd Infantry Division “Americal.” He was a life member of the VFW Post 4090 and a member of the American Legion Post 129. Fred worked at TRW as an Upsetter retiring after 32 years, in 2006. For the fun of it, he went on to stock some shelves at Meijer.

Fred married the love of his life, Ruth (Lenneman) Proctor, on July 23, 1982. They welcomed their son, Eric, on January 25, 1983.

Fred grew up learning the art of fur and minnow trapping from his father. He also enjoyed ice fishing and had a passion for collecting sports cards.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Joseph and Julianne Lenneman, David and Joyce Lenneman and Daniel Lenneman.

Fred is survived by his wife and son, sister, Vickie (Ken) Huhn, brother, Greg Proctor, in-laws Kevin (Julie) Lenneman, Patty Lenneman, Mary Lou (Paul) Simon, and Shirley (Bob) Smith, many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and walking buddies.

Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home with the Rev. Marilyn Danielson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rite of Committal will follow at the Portland Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Portland VFW Post 4090. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland VFW Post 4090, in memory of Frederick B.
