Gloria Ann Samora
November 8, 1946 – May 24, 2026
My mother was a deeply compassionate and empathetic woman, always willing to help those in need and to listen without judgment. To her, no one was ever a stranger. She opened her heart and her home to many, especially to friends whose families were not present or involved, becoming a mother figure to countless individuals beyond her own children.
In her quiet moments, she found joy and peace in her faith—reading her Bible, singing Christian songs, and sharing her love of God with others. Her presence created a warm, welcoming, and loving atmosphere wherever she was.
She adored her grandchildren beyond measure and poured her heart into each of them. They were truly the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
My mother was also fiercely resilient. Throughout her life, she faced many challenges yet met each one with strength and determination. Her perseverance was unwavering, and her commitment to caring for others often placed their needs above her own. She embodied a spirit of selflessness and toughness that will never be forgotten.
She leaves behind her sons: Anselmo Garza, Leo Garza, Valdo Garza, Rigoberto Flores Jr., and Arnulfo Macias Jr.; her daughters: Enedina Garza and Lisa Ledesma Thorne; and many beloved grandchildren, including Riel Armando Flores, Remillio Arnulfo Flores, and Ranicia Analeigh Flores, who were especially dear to her heart. She had a remarkable way of making each member of her family feel uniquely loved and cherished.
Her strength, faith, and love live on through her children and grandchildren. Though they now carry the sorrow of her passing, they also carry her lessons, her faith, and her enduring spirit—guiding them forward with hope and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
