James W. McKenzie III, 75, rests in heavenly peace as of September 17, 2018. He was born on July 7, 1943 in Saratoga Springs, NY, to the late James and Margaret (Brown) McKenzie. He was predeceased by his sisters, Laurie Anne McKenzie, Susan Jane Henchey, and Jean Stephenson. Jim is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Libby and David Brown of Morrisonville, NY, brother-in-law, Richard Henchey of Conover, NC, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. He leaves behind countless devoted friends, many of whose friendship spanned more than 40 years. Jim was a graduate of Michigan State University, served in the United States Marine Corps, and was employed by General Motors and the USDA Poultry Research Lab. He was an artist and a writer with a huge heart whose advice was "If you don't know what to do, love everyone".
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date in Lansing. Burial will be in Lake Luzerne, NY where he spent many summers on Sacandaga Lake. We are filled with gratitude for the loving staff at Stoneleigh Residence and for his faithful friends who epitomized the meaning and value of friendship and love. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
