Janette Christine Kramer

     Janette Christine Kramer, of Portland, devoted wife, mom and grandmother, passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 94.  She was born on July 4, 1930, in Westphalia to Arthur and Rosalia (Schueller) Smith. Janette was a faith filled woman, was a member of St. Patrick Church and served for over 30 years, washing and ironing the altar linens. She was a stay-at-home mom and regularly volunteered in the community. She will be remembered as a wonderful baker and cook, and always could be found at her kids and grandkids sporting events, always being their biggest cheerleader. Janette was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Most of all, Janette loved her family, and the grandkids always brought a smile to her face.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen, Irene, Rita, Marie and Margaret; brother, Charles; Kramer in-laws, Marguerite and Robert. Surviving is her loving husband of 69 years, Jerry; children, Doug (Lynne) Kramer, Fred (Jude) Kramer, Sue (Stacey) Bosworth, Kathy (Sharon Breton) Kramer, Jean (Jon) Shattuck, Ken (Kim) Kramer, Karen (Tony) Trierweiler and Mary (Ken) Cook; grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Krysta, Zachary, Jacob, Morgan, Mallory, Mariah, Jennifer, Anna, Daniel, Nick, Kellie, Clara, Brandon, Patrick, Travis, Kasey, Tyler, Kenzie, Logan, Leah, Shane; 21 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dave (Judy) Kramer; many nieces and nephews.

     The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. Patrick Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.
