Janice Marie Dassance

Janice Marie Dassance, age 70, of Portland, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1954 the daughter of Howard and Margaret (Geyer) Randolph. Janice graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1972 and was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patty Randolph; mother-in-law, Mary Hazelton; and father-in-law, Laurence Dassance. Surviving are her beloved husband, Les Dassance; children, Erin (Jeremy) Hoard and Larry (Lisa) Dassance; grandchildren, Haley, Emma, and Logan Dassance, Alyssa and Emma Gillson; sister, Nancy (Dennis) Fleming; and many special friends and nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Lenora Whitecotton-Combs at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Portland United Methodist Church, 310 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Interment will be in Delta Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the church following the service.
