Joan R. Cook, of Pewamo, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 14, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in Westphalia, Michigan on June 14, 1930 to Mathias and Mary (Belen) Kloeckner. Joan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending daily mass, praying the rosary, mowing her lawn, baking, playing cards, and her weekly prayer meetings with her friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Cook; daughter, Donna Cook; son-in-law, Bill Clark; great-granddaughter, Ella Cook; 13 siblings; and several in-laws.
Surviving are her children, Diane (Brad) Harkness of Ithaca, Norma (Donald) Schrauben of Westphalia, Sue Clark of Pewamo, Perry (Diane) Cook of Pewamo, Brian Cook of Pewamo, Julie (Neil) Thelen of Westphalia, and Scott Cook (Shawn Rottiers) of St. Johns; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren, with number 48 due in April; 2 great-great-grandchildren, with number 3 due in September; sister-in-law, Kate (William) Bushong; and many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Darrel Kempf at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 3-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia.
