John “Jack” Francis Belen, age 89, of Lansing, passed away on June 6, 2022. He was born on January 23, 1933, the son of Rudolph and Mary Catherine (Jackson) Belen. Jack was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Lansing and worked at the school for several years. He was known as “Grandpa Jack”. He worked for Motor Wheel for several years and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; sisters, Marguerite (John) Vandelville, Dorothy (Evart) George and Julia Whipple; bother, James Belen; brother-in-law, Phillip Yeakley. Surviving are children, Marc (Laura) Belen and Robin Kaye Sanford; grandsons, Tyler (Emily) Sanford and Oliver Belen; sister, Mary Yeakley; bother, Donald Belen.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. Therese of Lisieux, 102 W. Randolph Street, Lansing. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or the American Heart Association in memory of Jack. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
