Our dear Mother Joyce Carolann Thomas, 75, passed away on October 8, 2023. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for anyone that needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Pensacola, FL and Westphalia, MI.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree at Baker College in Human Resource Management. She worked as a beautician; she owned her own bridal shop where she custom designed bridal dresses, and finished her career as a Real Estate Agent. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, and planning events for the Newcomers group.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas, Sr.; sister, Doris Collins; brothers, Fred Cox, Jr. and Tom Cox; and her parents, Fred and Wilma Cox.

Joyce is survived by her son, John Thomas; daughter, Jennifer Thomas; sister, Wanda Spanley; and brother, John Cox.

Funeral Liturgy will be conducted by Deacon Charles Thelen at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
