Judy Lynn Schmitz, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024 at the age of 70. She was born in Lansing to parents, Aloysius “Al” and Shirley (Schieberl) Schmitz. Judy was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed every minute she spent with her family and friends. She could be found camping at Lake Michigan with her “forever friends” or her favorite activity, playing Yahtzee with her sisters. She was immensely proud of her family, especially her grandsons, whom she loved to talk about to anyone who would listen. Judy brought light into any room she entered, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Judy in death are her parents; stepmother, Josie Schmitz; and brother, Roger Schmitz. Judy is survived by her children, Brad Gladding, Kristi (Tom) Warner, and John Gladding; grandsons, Corbin Gladding, Evan Warner, and Zane Warner; sisters, Debbie Gehringer and Diane Schafer; niece, Andrea Fyan; nephews, Kirt Schafer, Scott Osborne, and Troy Schmitz; and her very best friend, Ginny Beardslee.
