Julia Kathleen (Belen) Whipple

Julia Kathleen Whipple, age 81, of Lansing, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away at her home on September 14, 2021. She was a faithful member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Lansing. She volunteered at the food pantry and helped with Sunday collections. Julia enjoyed playing cards, bridge, and bingo.

Preceding Julia in death are her parents; brother, James Belen; and brother-in-law, Phillip Yeakley. Surviving are her daughters, Michele Whipple, Diane Whipple, and Elizabeth (Hector) Flores; grandchildren, Christy Whipple, Gabrielle Whipple, Shemar Whipple, Rio Whipple, Brianna Whipple, Anthony Flores, and Alex (Jaden) Flores; sister, Mary Yeakley; brothers, John “Jack” Belen and Donald Belen; and several nieces.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John Fain at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2021 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Lansing. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
