June 30, 1939 ~ November 14, 2021 (age 82)


June Elaine (Teachout) Burger, age 82, of Vermontville, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was born on June 30, 1939 in Portland, the daughter of Earl and Mabel (Goodwin) Teachout. June always put others needs before hers, she was extremely thoughtful and always worked to keep the peace. June made sure everyone was well fed, she was the best cook – among her specialties were pies, cookies, butterhorn rolls, and german chocolate cake. June made her famous biscuits and gravy for her sons and grandsons every year on opening day. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.  She enjoyed her flowers, going to the casino with her family, and bowling in the league at the Wagon Wheel for many years. June worked at Johnny’s Food Market in Vermontville, Carl's Supermarket in Nashville, and also at Spartan Stadium where she made some great friends along the way. On January 5, 1956, June married the love of her life, L.D. Burger and they celebrated 65 years of marriage together.

Preceding June in death are her parents, Earl and Mabel Teachout; brothers, Robert, David, and Richard Teachout; sister, Margaret (Richard) Clements; son-in-law, Mike Dickinson; and former son-in-law, Steve Duffey. She is survived by her husband, L.D. Burger; children, Sue (Claude) Hine, Steven Burger, Jayne (special friend, Scott Cook) Dickinson, and Jeffrey Burger; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
